DG Designs

It is always hard to think of things about yourself to say. But here it goes...My name is Deserae and I am the artist, creator, manager and everything else for DG Designs. I even answer the phones! :0) This is a dream I've had my whole life and I just needed a kick in the butt to get it started. (To the people who kicked me in the butt...THANK YOU...this business is a 1 woman show these days but it did not start that way & I won't ever forget that!) I have lived in Montana, California, Nebraska, Florida, back to California and back to Montana. Full circle! Each place taught me something and added something to my life. (The blessings of being a Navy Brat!) 

I got my first camera when I lived in Florida. It was a purple 110 camera from Avon my Grandma Lois bought me. I have upgraded cameras since then! :0) I remember as a young girl wanting to take pictures and hold on to memories. I've always been very aware of how quickly time flies and how precious time is. Living in Montana has fed my soul with its natural beauty. There is always something to take pictures of and there is nothing better then parking on a mountain and taking pictures of the world around me.

The part of me that is happiest when I was creating things was always sad when I went to stores to buy birthday invitations & christmas cards, etc. So, I decided one day (seriously I just sat down one day and decided I'd learn how to make cards myself!) that I was going to create cards that fit my kids more. So, that is where it began. Making my own kids' invitations. Then it spread to friends and family. Then I started getting business from strangers! It is my passion and joy to make cards that fit a family.

The alphabet photography part of the business came about when I wanted to give my dear friend a personalized gift for his birthday and was trying to come up with something that no one else would give him. I was driving around one day and noticed that the tree stump looked like a "Y". So it hit me--there is a whole alphabet around me. Why not take pictures and make things out of the letters?! So, a business was born! :0)  

I take great pride in being able to stay home and raise my kids and this business allows that. My children are my inspiration and they make me believe for better things! (I think that is just about enough about me!!)
